Crafty Problem Solving: Knitted Earring Holder

Sometimes you’re drawn to a project because it looks gorgeous.  Looks fun.  Teaches you a new technique.  Seems simple & mindless.  But I found my latest project out of necessity.

My jewelry drawer was a nightmare.  Earrings everywhere in little dishes and boxes. Tangles of necklaces.  It was really not a pleasant experience trying to find jewelry in the morning, so instead I’d started wearing the same earrings over and over and over.

In an act of desperation, I googled ‘jewelry organizer’ and actually came across this lovely pattern on Ravelry.  (The best knitting/crocheting pattern site ever, in my opinion!)

UCC Approved! The Big Knit

Have you ever wanted to knit tiny little hats … for your drinks bottles?  Well now is your chance (or it was… UCC is a little late finding out about it this year!).  Innocent smoothies is running their annual Big Knit project where lovely knitters across the UK make small knitted hats for the tops of smoothie bottles.  Everytime someone buys a behatted bottle, they donate money to the charity Age UK.

We love that they’re encouraging knitting parties (why not hold one in your local pub), and have put together a kit with hat patterns, invites, posters … everything you need to get knitting!
